Images of american photographer Slim Aarons, known for shooting the glamorous life of socialites and celebrities.

Aarons defined his career as “photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places.” Legend has it that the apartment of James Stewart‘s character in Rear Window (Alfred Hitchcock, 1954) was based on Aarons apartment. I wonder if that’s true…

Beauty favorites – march

Beauty favorites - march 2014

These are a few of my march beauty favorites:

1. Acquaflora Post-Coloring – Color Maintenance – The line has coffee oil in its formula, that prevents colored hair to fade. It’s my first experience with this brand and I really liked it. Now I want to try the Hair Mist, a hair perfume that neutralizes odors and seems to be pretty cool!

2. Germed Pharma Hydracell – The best thing about this moisturizer is that, besides him serving both for the body and for the face, it has no fragrance, is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic (ie, doesn’t clog pores). The fact that it has no scent is great for when you’re already using a lot of other scented products (soap, bath water, perfume…) and don’t want to add another fragrance to that mix!

3. Elizabeth Arden Fantasy Britney Spears – Anniversary Edition – It’s Britney bitch! This perfume celebrates the 10th anniversary of the first fragrance by the pop star and is a fruity floral with notes of lychee, kiwi, cupcake (!) and orchid. It’s suuuuper sweet and even I thought it was a little too much (I happen to like sweet scents). But the good news is that the fragrance becomes much lighter throughout the day.

4. Leite de Rosas soap – I didn’t know that Leite de Rosas, a very traditional brazilian brand, was making these lovely soaps. It’s a pleasure to use a product that was once part of my mother and grandmother’s beauty ritual.

Which beauty products were your favorites this month?
