Sweets Gifts… from sweet people

Is there a better way to start the new year than receiving beautiful gifts from the most adorable people? I’m so lucky to know so many lovely people, who always surprise me with beautiful displays of friendship!

I received this beautiful box, inspired by dutch painter Piet Mondrian, from my dear friend Gabi from the blog Torne Simples. The best thing about it is that I’ve  just saw a few of Mondrian’s works in person, over at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Germany. I loved the coincidence! The box was handcrafted by Toy Box, which also produces other boxes with amazing themes, from Amy Winehouse to Salvador Dalí. Thanks Gabi!

This cute notebook and this beautiful scarf were created by the talented hands of Kelly from the blog Mel Maria. She chose this matrioshka fabric for the  notebook thinking about my trip to Russia, isn’t that adorable? Kelly, I loved my gifts, thank you so much!

illustration: Puntobipolar Garcia

I start this new year with Puntobipolar Garcia‘s beautiful illustrations, with the series entitled la casa de la imperfección. I love the floral prints of their shirts (or are they dresses?)!

My january header is also one of her works. Check out more in her Flickr and Tumblr.

2012 journal – dayplanner – notebook

I chose these two beauties to accompany me in 2012:

One Line a Day, from Chronicle Books: it’s a diary in which you write a short sentence about your day, for five years. The cool thing about it is that you can check out all the moments and memories from previous years. Lovely, like all Chronicle Books’ products.

Flexi Notebook, from Orla Kiely: It’s impossible to resist the colorful leaves pattern and the delicate design of all Orla Kiely products. When I saw this cute notebook, it was love at first sight.

I also bought a dayplanner from Paperblanks, which I’ll use for work. It’s the kind you leave inside your bag and take it everywhere, you know?

How about you? What’s your choice for 2012?
