I had not visited the Salvador Dalí exhibition here in Rio, at CCBB, for a number of reasons. Among them, I must confess, is the fact that I’ve never been a big fan of the surrealist movement. Don’t get me wrong, I understand the importance of the movement (and I have enormous sympathy for the binding of Dalí with psychoanalysis), but his work never “caught” me, you know?
I had seen a lot of his work in museums I visited while travelling and was determined not to face the huge weekend queues at CCBB. But then I received an irresistible invitation for a guided visit to the exhibition this week, for guests only, and I had to check it out. I was surprised at how beautiful the exhibition is. If you have the opportunity to visit, I highly recommend it. Here’s a few pictures of what you’ll find there:
