Vintage match boxes

I’ve been obsessing over these cute vintage match boxes. Check out the amazing designs.

Ohio Blue Tip Matches, from AMradio.

Litho Italian matchbox, from 5gardenias.

Maybe I’ll turn new (and boring) match boxes in adorable vintage versions, using one of these flickr sets, full of true works of art.

Jane McDevitt’s Matchbox Labels and Japanese Matchbox Labels.

Linzie Hunter’s Vintage Matchbook Labels.

Shailesh Chavda’s German Matchbox Labels.

Chris Stamas’ Russian Matchbox Labels.

i’m thinking i might have to start driving my husband crazy with another obsessive collection! both my parents smoked so i don’t know why i never started collecting matchbooks way back then? i’m in total love with the vintage labels. especially the japanese ones. and i agree with maddy – they are way too pretty to use.

Também amo, como a superfície de impressão é pequena, o desenho é bastante simplificado, um estilo que faz meu coração cantar. Meus preferidos são os tchecos.
