I died and went to heaven when I saw these Caroline Gomez pieces for the first time. Her work is devoted to creating objects in limited series as a celebration of natural raw materials and craftsmanship. In her own words:

“I like to play with the limits the fields of design offer and free myself from conventional barriers, in order to forge a rich and singular world“.

Charlotte (or charlotte russe) is a typical french dessert, wrapped with ladyfingers and stuffed with cream, mousse or fruits. Legend has it that this dessert was created by french chef Marie-Antoine Carême to honor Princess Charlotte, daughter of the then King of England George IV.
