Take a Bite!

The economist Helen Shifrin worked in oil companies and banks, but it was during a training period of her MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that she realized how people valued having a healthy body and mind. Inspired by her colleagues who were beginning to open their own businesses, Helen created BioFoodLab, the company responsible for the beautiful Take a Bite snack bars.

The bars are 100% natural, with no gluten, added sugar or preservatives. In addition to being healthy, they have super inspired packaging, created by Peter Gregson Studio. I’m a fan of snack bars (yay to the afternoon snack). Even more so if they look beautiful and are healthy.

*fun fact: In french, the world bite means the male sexual organ. I guess that banana package (there had to be a banana!) will not look so good to the french market, right? :)

Fun bathtub pics taken by 22 years old photographer Jasmine Deporta. She’s inspired by colors, dreams and youth. Love the pink hair (not for me though).  :)

Lifecycling: Makoto Asamoto

I usually have a certain weakness for super bright and minimalist environments, but I fell in love with this tiny apartment, located in Tokyo, packed with awesome personal objects. The owner is Makoto Asamoto and the photos were taken for Lifecycling – a web magazine that shows homes of people passionate about their objects and “things.”

Lifecycling magazine

The magazine show tips, ideas and photos, helping its readers to live a more creative life and to have more fun with the objects they own. Lifecycling is kinda The Selby, but with an oriental feel (the magazine is japanese) that I love!

Alice: porcelain tea-were

Alice is Rachel Boxnboim‘s final project at the Industrial design department at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, in Jerusalem. She created a modern porcelain collection through the combination of soft material (fabric) and  hard material (ceramic).

She sewed fabric molds that were later used to build porcelain utensils, such as cups, plates, sugar container and a milk jug. In the process of burning in the kiln the fabric disappears and only the ceramic is left. At the end, the ceramic takes on the texture of the fabric and the appearance of the seams, and looks like a kind of hardened textile.

A-ma-zing!
