paper surprise: Paperview

The other day I was talking (on this post) about the act of sending and receiving  “real” letters, the ones you send by post and that fill our hearts with joy when they arrive in our doorsteps. I also talked about my love for stationery, that many of you share with me. It seems that Paperview has been reading my thoughts – and my posts!

Paperview papelaria fina

Paperview is a fine stationery online store, specialized in high quality customized products. Maria Angela Bufarah – also passionate about stationery – wanted a company in Brazil that could offer differentiated products and therefore created Paperview. Better for us, who now have access to so much beautiful products. Look what arrived to me yesterday. How can you not fall in love?

Paperview papelaria fina: produtos

Thanks Paperview for the lovely products! And now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to write a few letters …

movie crush: Planet of the Apes

movie crush: Planet of the Apes

A few things I love about the movie Planet of the Apes:
(1968, directed by Franklin J. Schaffner)

· The glowing fluorescent lights that float around in space.

· The astronauts beautiful vintage uniforms.

· Charlton Heston’s crazy laugh (after seeing his fellow astronaut setting up a tiny American flag into the “unknown planet”).

· No computer-generated monkeys! The film had a team of over 80 makeup artists.

· The apes’ village was modeled on the work of legendary spanish architect Antoni Gaudí.

· “Take your stinking paws off me, you damned dirty ape.

Little Shinning Man

Little Shinning Man

Little Shinning Man is a buoyant sculpture created by Queen & Crawford, based around Alexander Graham Bell kite designs. Magical, isn’t it? And the sculpture is even prettier in motion, watch the video to see it in action.
